Brancott ‘07 Sauvignon Blanc, Reserve, Marlborough
$9.99 btl / $113.89 cs - save $13 "With aromas of ripe
gooseberry and fresh herb combined with underlying mineral
characters, this wine has concentration and purity of aroma and
flavor. Vineyard blocks from the Wairau and Awatere valleys,
displaying superior flavor and concentration, were nurtured over the
2007 growing season to result in a wine which exudes style and is
truly representative of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc." - Winemaker
Notes. Reg: $23
Boarding Pass ‘07 Shiraz, South Australia
$8.99 btl / $102.49 cs - save $11 "The 2007 Boarding Pass
Shiraz contains 5% Viognier which provides a floral lift to its
Cote-Rotie-like bouquet of bacon, smoked meat, and blueberry.
Seamless, complex, and layered on the palate, it is way too good to
sell for $18." 91 points - The Wine Advocate. Reg: $20
Carlos Basso ‘09 Malbec "Dos Fincas", Mendoza
$9.99 btl / $113.89 cs The use of two separate vineyards in
Argentina is a traditional practice to safeguard against the threat
of hail. For the Basso family, it also allows them to make a more
interesting blend by combining the attributes of two distinct
microclimates. The dark, powerful fruit from their vineyard in San
Carlos matched with the softer, more nuanced fruit from their
vineyard in Tunuyan makes for a memorable wine.

Capcanes ‘07 Mas Donis Barrica , Monsant
$10.99 btl / $125.29 cs

The remote, rocky hills of the Priorat
wine region are the birthplace of reds that many wine writers and
collectors consider to be Spain’s most elite wines. Priorat is
frequently beyond the reach of affordability, but this Monsant
delivers the same delicious components for a fraction of the price.
"It offers up an alluring bouquet of smoke, pencil lead, earth
notes, clove, cinnamon, and black cherry. This leads to a wine with
remarkable depth and concentration for its humble price, savory

Clos de los Siete ‘07 Mendoza, Argentina
$15.99 btl / $182.29 cs
- save $4
"There may be no finer red wine value in
Argentina than this superb blend of 48% Malbec, 28% Merlot, 12%
Syrah, and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon. Opaque purple-colored, the wine
coats the glass while offering up a superb bouquet of toasty oak,
violets, mineral, black currant, blueberry, and black cherry. This
is followed by a layered wine with gobs of ripe fruit, a plush
texture, outstanding balance, and several years of aging potential
(not that many buyers will be laying this down). This lengthy effort
over-delivers and then some." 91 points - The Wine Advocate.
